Subscription terms
Last updated: 30 October 2026
1. Who we are
Sherpa Atlas (the "Service") is published by Ganiz Holding Company, LLC ("we", "us"), the company behind Global Infrastructure Sherpa. By creating an account, requesting a trial or subscribing, you agree to these terms. If you subscribe for an organisation, you confirm you may bind it, and "you" means that organisation.
2. What the Service is
Sherpa Atlas is a map of infrastructure assets organised in layers (for example, a country's substations). Some layers have a free version. A subscription opens the full content of every layer: every map feature, table, figure and panel, including countries added later, and the updates we publish while your subscription is active.
3. Accounts
You sign in with an email address or a Google account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Each subscription is tied to the account and email address it was bought with and, for a Team licence, to the email addresses named on it.
4. Trials
You may ask for a trial. We decide each request at our discretion and confirm the terms of a trial, including any fee, in writing before it starts. A trial lasts two weeks from when it opens, ends on its own and never turns into a paid subscription by itself. A trial fee is credited against a subscription you then take out, as stated in our offer. The licence in section 6 applies during a trial, for evaluation only.
5. Subscriptions, prices and payment
- Country editions. Each country edition (for example the Nordics, Great Britain or Italy) is sold on the Service for one user, a team of up to five named users, or an organisation with more than five, at the prices shown on the Service when you subscribe, in US dollars, before any VAT or sales tax. You choose to pay monthly, every six months or every year, in advance.
- First month at half price. Your first monthly subscription costs half its monthly price for its first month, once per customer. It then continues at the full monthly price unless you cancel.
- Global Access (every country and layer we publish) is sold by written offer, for one year at a time, paid in advance, at the price in that offer.
- You can pay by card. Team, organisation and Global Access subscriptions can also be paid by invoice, by card or bank transfer, due by the date on it. Access opens when payment is made, or earlier if we agree. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card number.
- A subscription renews for the same period at the price then current, unless you cancel or we tell you of a change before it applies to you.
- You can cancel at any time by telling us, or from "Invoices and billing" on the map. Access continues to the end of the month, six months or year you have paid for; there is no refund for the remainder of a period.
- If a payment is not made when due, we may suspend access until it is.
- Quotes, purchase orders and supplier forms: contact us.
6. Your licence to use the content
Who may use it. A single-user licence is for one named person. A Team licence is for up to five named people in your organisation, whose email addresses you register in the Service; you may replace a named user at any time. An Enterprise licence covers the users and uses agreed with us in writing. Each named user must use their own account.
What you may do. While your subscription is active, named users may use the content of the layers you subscribe to for your organisation's internal business purposes, and may include limited extracts (for example, figures, a map view or a short table) in internal documents, and in reports, presentations or advice to a specific client, lender or investor about a particular project or transaction, crediting "Sherpa Atlas".
What you may not do. You may not:
- resell, republish, sublicense or distribute the content, or make it available to anyone who is not a named user, except the limited extracts allowed above;
- copy the content in bulk, or extract it by automated means (scraping, crawlers, scripts or similar);
- share an account or a sign-in, or let more people use the Service than your licence covers;
- load the content into a database, data feed, model or product for others, or use it to build a competing product.
When it ends. When your subscription or trial ends, the right to use the Service ends. You may keep extracts already included in documents made during it, but not copies of the content itself.
The Service and its content remain ours or our licensors'. Third-party data shown in the Service stays subject to its owners' terms (for example, map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL; power plants outside the country editions © Global Energy Monitor, CC BY 4.0, which you may reuse under that licence).
7. Accuracy and updates
The content is drawn from information published by grid operators, authorities and companies, as at the dates stated in each layer. Published information can be incomplete, late or wrong, and can change without notice. The Service is information, not advice: check anything you rely on with the relevant grid operator or authority before you act on it.
Each layer shows the date its information was read ("data as at"). We update a layer when its main sources publish new information, and at least once a year while the layer is on sale. A subscription includes the updates we publish during it.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted access. We may improve, change or retire features and layers. If we withdraw a layer you have paid for, we will refund the unused part of your current period.
9. Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Ending access
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, in particular section 6. You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its date and, for material changes, tell subscribers by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
